As we near the end of the year and we move into the months of November till February we have Kabeljou spawning in the vicinity of Paaltjies and Sandwich Harbor.
This is usually fish that measure between 50 cm to 90 cm in size. Average weight between 8 kg and 23 kg. Lots of anglers will be found fishing this area.
My preferred method of fishing this area is to have good Pilchard, number 5-8 O hooks and good leader. Find areas that have banks with foamy water and lots of good water flow to a gully closer to the shore. The bigger fish is on the bank.
I will keep posting as I get informed of good catches.
I prefer to always catch my limit. In Namibia that is 2 fish over 70 cm per angler per day.

Was in Henties and. Travelled north to108 and south to Walvis Bay.
The 3rd week of September, if you remember, was awash. We did, however, get some Kob along the Cape bay.
Wish to return early in the new year.
